Daniel Lee Baker 23.11.1989 - 23.03.2020

Dan had ADHD, was on the autistic spectrum and had an accident that led to brain damage when he was very young. It made living with Dan certainly far from boring, but living without Dan will never be the same.

As a child, Dan could be 'tricky', he'd throw tantrums, refuse to do some things and be the giver of some horror bruises. But, that was not Dan, it was a combination of his conditions and him not being able to understand or keep them under control.

 After a rocky start to his teenage years, Dan went to Linkage College. Linkage is a college for young adults with SEND. It taught the students independence, how they could live alone, volunteer and taught them basic but life changing skills in a variety of subjects. Dan LOVED his time at college, although hard because he was being told what to do, it gave him the best start to a more independent and fulfilling life. He had fun, learnt how to function as an adult and was supported in understanding how to control his conditions. It was truly a turning point in Dan's life when he went to Linkage.

Dan met his girlfriend and friends for life there. Never would we have imagined Dan could ever go to college. Let alone graduate and get a place in assisted living. It gave Dan a better quality of living. And for that, we as a family will always be grateful to Linkage.

He enjoyed life as much as he could everyday of the 30 years he was given. Always laughing, always chatting away to people. 
We are so very proud of my brother. He battled through some real horrors in his life but still smiled, laughed and loved like no one I’ve ever known.
