Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 1st January 2019 our dearest, elder son Daniel died in a tragic accident while working in Dubai. Daniel was an adored son, brother, uncle, nephew, grandson, cousin and friend.
Daniel lived a full life, travelling the UK and the world to his many work assignments, enjoying the countries he visited and making lots of friends along the way. He was a gifted vision-mixer and musician, and a dear and patient friend to those who knew and loved him. To us, he was just our darling boy, funny, quirky, shy, humble and unfailingly kind and sweet. He has left a void in our lives that nothing can fill and nor would we want it to.
We, Daniel’s family, have our own precious memories of Daniel and we know that his many friends and work colleagues have, too. Rosi, Gary and the family have gained much comfort from the kind and thoughtful messages sent by Daniel’s many friends all over the world; we thank you for them and for your friendship to Daniel. Daniel loved his family and his friends and was much loved in return.
It comforts us and may comfort all of you to know that immediately before going to Dubai, Daniel had a wonderful Christmas with his whole family, and was greatly looking forward to returning on 11th January. The holiday period had been full of laughs and good food. Daniel taught his young nephew, Harry, how to play Mario Cart, and this was something he was going to pick up when he returned.
Daniel would have been most surprised at the outpouring of grief since his death. He would not want you to stay sad, but to live your lives and enjoy them. He has lived a full life, and we are so glad for that. Though we will miss him sorely, we will honour his memory by cherishing the gift of life and by living our lives better and more kindly from knowing, loving and being loved by Daniel.
Rosi and Gary have asked that anyone who feels moved to make a donation in remembrance of Daniel’s life could consider choosing The Compassionate Friends. This is a charity that has been active for 50 years in supporting parents who have experienced the shattering death of a child.
Rest in peace, our beautiful boy.
