I had a Stroke and a Heart attack due to an autoimmune blood disorder called ‘Hughes Syndrome’ colloquially known as ‘Sticky Blood Syndrome’. It is estimated that 1 in 5 young stroke survivors have this syndrome and it goes undiagnosed by GP’s, until something really bad happens.

 

The Stroke Association is doing amazing work for Stroke Survivors like me but it needs your help to make it  accessible to others. 

 

Some of the things I’ve done with the Stroke Association (where I volunteer now) have been sailing, ten pin bowling, one handed cooking, singing and exercise classes. These little things have contributed to help rebuild my confidence as it has for other strokies.

 

I’m doing the 'Castle 2 Castle’ cycling challenge to raise money for this life changing charity.
