Hi guys,

At the end of January 2011 I am heading off to India for 10 weeks!
I am doing this with and on behalf of the charity Raleigh who provide opportunities for individuals to volunteer abroad and provide assistance in developing countries. I am preparing both mentally and physically to pack my bags and live and work amongst communities in rural India!
During my time there will be:
- Spending 3 weeks on a community (education and health) project, living in the community and helping advance 1) education by teaching in schools and organising events to boost learning and 2) the health systems available, be it building area to be used for hospitals or creating better water systems all to enhance the lives of communities in rural India
- Spending 3 weeks on an environmental project working closely with elephants and tigers and helping conserve the nature through building elephant proof fences etc.
- Spending 3 weeks on adventure where I will be set physical challenges and have to trek through some of the remotest parts of the country and even have to build a raft and survive on it for 2 days!

As you can see it will be an absolutely amazing way to provide hands-on support and help for those living in India and the only way I can do this is with your help! The money raised will help towards the work I can provide in India! 

I cannot thank you enough for your help, this is a once in a liftetime opportunity not only for me but perhaps for the people on the receiving end of my hard work and effort in helping improve the lives of young people and endangered animals in India.
