Story
Hi thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am taking part in the 2010 London Marathon on April 25th to raise money for Leukaemia Reserch. As some of u may or may not know my brother Barry was diagnosed with Leukaemia when he was 12 years old and was in hospital for a long time fighting for his life.
At the time of Barry's illness I was 6 years old and the whole family found it very hard and upsetting. My dad decided to start running and he says it helped him get through these testing times. My dad ran the 1997 London Marathon for Leukaemia Research and managed to raise alot of money. I soon after got into running myself and realised how it can leave you feeling so positve, as well as tired. I've always said one day i will run the London Marathon to raise money to help peolpe sufering with Leukaemia and now that time has come.
Barry battled through his sickness, and with the help of Great Ormond Street and Leukaemia Research he is now doing really well and been in remission for years. My brother Barry is now 25 years old and been a police officer for 5 years, he has also recently became a very proud father to twin boys in November 2009. Barry is an inspiration to all of us and is proof that people can pull through Leukaemia.
Specialists at Great Ormond Street use his story as inspiration for newly diagnosed sufferers of Leukaemia.
I hope to raise as much money as i possibly can for Leukaemia Research, your support and sponsorship will be greatly appreciated and knowing that it might help towards a cure or early diagnosis of leukaemia will make all the blisters and sore thighs worth while! So please, please sponsor me to run the mararthon, i hope to run it in a resonable time and the more money i can raise, the faster il go!
