Story
Stan is taking part in an 'Elf Run' with all the donations going to Bolton Hospice. He will be running at school for 45 minutes non-stop.
Bolton Hospice is close to our hearts. They have been involved with Laurence's care throughout his illness. Before we had carers in place and during a very stressful time for me, Laurence stayed in Bolton Hospice for two weeks. They were absolutely brilliant! They have also provided 'hospice at home' care, with hospice nurses visiting Laurence in our home every two days, and to the very end.
They were never rushed, they talked to Stan and I, and provided a truly holistic support to our family. I remember thinking that not everyone could be a hospice nurse and that it takes a special kind of person. They were also very matter of fact about death and dying, which both Laurence and I appreciated a great deal. He found out that most nurses had a great and rather dark sense of humour - right up his street!
I have supported Bolton Hospice in various ways throughout years, and now is Stan's turn to do his part. We ask you to support him in his run and donate generously.
- £45 could pay for mince pie and a tipple for Bolton Hospice patients and their families this Christmas
- £103 could pay for hospice at home nurses to visit a patient this Christmas allowing them to remain at home surrounded by family (this is the service Laurence had).
- £374 would cove the cost of running all of the hospice's patient and family care for an hour
Thank you,
Dani and Stan.
