We fund research and raise awareness to shine a light on Lewy body dementia

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.

July 15th 2017 myself and two friends (Phil Cope & Gareth Davies) will be competing in The Cleveland Steelman triathalon which consists of a 1.1 mile swim in open water, 58 mile cycle followed by a half marathon across country  for The Lewy Bodies Society. Lewy Bodies is a form of dementia which sadly and cruely took my Father's life just before Christmas. My Father was a very strong, independent man, this illness not only made him lose his memories but made him incredibly weak too, very upsetting for those who knew and loved him. He fought bravely for 10 long years in the face of a very cruel illness. Hopefully by competing in the Steelman Triathalon, I can help to support the vital research into the causes and treatment of Lewy Bodies Dementia made possible by The Lewy Bodies Society. Their mission is to create and raise awareness of the disease. Your donation will help to provide a community focus for those who suffer from dementia with Lewy Bodies(DLB) along with their carers and families. Visit www.lewybody.org for more information.

So, as myself, Phil and Gareth embark on our Steelman journey; enduring gruelling training sessions, running, cycling and swimming, I will be inspired by the incredible courage my Father showed throughout his illness, right to the very end.

If you would like to support what I'm doing for this very worthy cause and in my Dad's memory, please donate via my Just Giving page, we can make a difference to those who are suffering.

The hard work has already begun!

Wish me luck.
