Using the @What3Words App to plot routes and give updates on the day.........download the App it’s amazing.
Reason: I am retiring from Asda after a total of 36 years service. I have met a lot of wonderful people over the years and it has been such a big part of my life since I was a 17 year old trainee butcher at High Wycombe store in 1983. I have really enjoyed my career with Asda but now it is time to move on and spend time with family and friends and being me. I am supporting @WOLO which stands for We Only Live Once as it really resonated with me. Life is no dress rehearsal and at times it becomes really tough whether that’s physically or mentally. I’m also raising awareness for @SportinMind. More info below.
I know a lot of people who have been affected by mental health and others who have lost their lives due to disease such as cancer and some of them far too early in life.
There are times in life when you take stock. Whether that’s losing a loved one or going through a personal situation and it makes you question your own mortality.
Time flys so quickly so make every minute count. Don’t wait to fulfil your dreams. Live your life..............because.......
We Only Live Once!!
Wolo Foundation help families living in Sussex through their cancer journeys. They support them by offering practical help and support to make their day-to-day lives easier. They work with local businesses and communities to offer families a wealth of services to support them through their diagnosis, treatment and beyond. Statistics show that 1 in 2 people in the UK born after 1960 will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Life is precious - we need to make the most of it - we only live once - WOLO!
Sport In Mind
Sport in Mind ® is an award winning independent mental health charity founded in Berkshire in 2010 with a simple mission:
"To improve the lives of people experiencing mental health problems through sport and physical activity"
We are the UK’s leading mental health sports charity and have supported the recovery of over 12,500 people experiencing mental health problems to date. Our services are delivered in partnership with the NHS and have been co-designed by people with lived experience of mental health problems and healthcare professionals. Sport in Mind's services are delivered to support the recovery of people with mental health problems in the community and NHS inpatient care as we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to take part in sport and physical activity irrespective of how unwell they are. Our charity's work has gained national acclaim and in 2019 was awarded the Queen's Award for Voluntary Services, the highest honour a charity can receive.
