King Alfred's Way Cycle Ride · 4 June 2021 to 7 June 2021 ·

Immerse yourself in 10,000 years of history by riding this 350km loop around historic Wessex, the Anglo-Saxon kingdom of Alfred the Great while raising money for men with advanced stage cancer.

Story

The Cancer Club is a charity on a mission to make life better and easier for men with advanced-stage cancers. We want them to enjoy life and have fun, by connecting them both in-person and online in supportive environments and through the medium of sport.

The charity's mission is to get men talking by taking them to a variety of sporting events, where they can connect over common experiences and gain emotional support from others in the same boat. We also want to provide an outlet, a way to escape the everyday grind created by cancer, bringing some light-hearted relief and enjoyment to the lives of those living with a difficult diagnosis.

To support this fantastic charity, we (Gordon, Andy, Subodh and Darren) have set ourselves the challenge to ride the entire King Alfred Way.

This will be 350km over 4 days.....  all off-road!!! Taking us from Farnham > Winchester > Devizes > Wantage > Farnham.

Full route detail can be found here > https://www.cyclinguk.org/king-alfreds-way.  This historic and challenging route, will test our strength, stamina and resistance to not sit in the pub all night!

Thank you for any support you can provide to this crucial charity.

Cheers,  Gordon, Andy, Subodh and Darren.
