Event: China: Walk the Wall, from 13 May 2017 to 21 May 2017
Cancer Research Wales are embarking on an epic 9 day challenge of walking the Great Wall of China in a bid to raise vital funds into early diagnosis, treatment and cure of cancer.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In 2015 I trekked 7 days across the Sahara and thanks to the amazing support of friends and colleagues and magnificent clients and business partners of Pensord I raised over £8,500 for an amazing charity.

I've taken a year off and now I've committed to 7 days of plodding step after step after step of the Great Wall of China in May 2017.

This trek is demanding in a very different way to the Sahara; no extreme heat and no plodding through sand dunes just instead day after day of climbing stairs as the part of the wall we are covering follows the peaks of hills and mountains!

Why am I doing it?

I truly believe I live a very privileged existence I'm healthy, love my job, mix with some fantastic people, have a great family and enjoy life - but all of that can be gone in the blink of an eye if Cancer has its wicked way.

So I am determined whilst I have the flexibility of life to put myself out and raise money for such a great cause.

9 days of my life to save a life.

So as before, thank you so much for getting this far and reading my page and amazing thank you's if you commit funds to help me reach my goal - your support will drive me on!

Thank you,

Darren
