Virgin London Marathon 2012 · 22 April 2012 ·

The nation’s leading first aid charity. Every year, more than 400,000 people learn how to save a life through our training programmes. Our volunteers provide first aid in their communities and thanks to them fewer lives will be lost needlessly. Raise money. Help save lives. Be the difference.

Story

Hi Everyone,

If you have got this far then hopefully you will be willing to sponsor me. For Years I have watched the Marathon on TV and always thought how fantastic it would be to participate, but within a few days the idea slips away, Unfortunatly a couple of days after this years event I happened to be discussing this very fact with a friend over a few beers and a curry, and  'as you do' made a pact to run in 2012!

The next Day I ran around the block 0.2 MIles, The first time I had run for 20 Years!( Ouch),  But now I had the Bug. We are Both now in Training and Getting fitter week by week.

I Have chosen to run for St. John Ambulance, A great Charity that does so much to give ordinary people the Training and Confidence to offer first Aid in everyday situations, My Daughter is also a cadet so I can see the good work they do at first hand. I am also Hoping the St. Johns T-Shirt may give me some preferencial treatment should I need it on the big day!

I hope you can all dig deep and help me to reach my sponsership target,

Cheers Darren
