Great Birmingham Run - Half Marathon 2017 · 15 October 2017 ·

It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On 23rd March 2017 my wife Joanna gave birth to our beautiful baby girl Jessica, who was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma Embryonal.

Jessica has been given a treatment plan for the next 6 months of chemotherapy and will be under the oncology team at the Birmingham Children's Hospital.

It has always been one of my lifelong goals to run a marathon, so this year I will start with the Birmingham Half Marathon in October in aid of the Birmingham Children's Hospital.

We have also arranged a charity golf day for the 6th August at Kings Norton Golf Club, followed by a family fundraiser disco after we finish playing golf.

On 1st October we have a charity football match at Triplex kicking off at 2pm, followed by a family fundraiser disco on the function room.

I have set up this page to give something back to the Birmingham Children's Hospital, who will be treating our little baby girl throughout her fight against this terrible illness.

Please make a generous donation to an amazing charity.

If you want any further information regarding any of the charity events please call me on 07909 256605.

All our love
Darren, Jo, Ruby, Cian, Emily & Little Jess
