We’re the UK’s leading bowel cancer charity. We’re determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. Our vision is a future where nobody dies of the disease.

Story

As a bowel cancer survivor of 3 years since diagnosis, I have come to understand that this cancer is the second biggest cancer killer in the UK, but it shouldn't be, being treatable and curable especially if diagnosed early.

Bowel Cancer UK are the UK's leading bowel cancer charity. They are determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. Their vision is a future where nobody dies of the disease, but funds are required to enable them to continue to target research, provide expert information and support to patients and their families, educate the public and professionals about the disease and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care.

I have always enjoyed running and after training for and completing The Great South Run earlier this year I decided to pull together an extra-ordinary challenge in support of Bowel Cancer UK.

I will be attempting to complete 355 miles (570 kilometres), across 8 events in the space of 6 months, from April to September 2020. The 8 challenge distances being 5 events at over 50 km, 3 events at over 100 km  and will include 3 epic challenges of:-

- The Isle of Wight - the complete coastal perimeter (106 km)

- London to Brighton - Capital to Coast - Richmond Park to Brighton seafront, taking on both the North and Southdowns

- Southwest Coast 2 Coast - the southwest peninsular, from Minehead on the Bristol Channel to the southern coast of Devon and Dawlish on the English Channel, taking on both Exmoor and the Exe Valley

I am hoping that the scale of the challenge that I am attempting will deliver the best possible sponsorship funding to Bowel Cancer UK and provide some inspiration to those either living with or recovering from bowel cancer.

Please consider sponsoring me and help Bowel Cancer UK realise their vision of a future where nobody dies of this disease.
