Story
On 16th October with work colleagues, family and friends we all successfully completed the Cardiff Half Marathon to raise money for the Laurence-Moon-Bardet-Beidle Society. The day went really well and it was a fantastic effort by all, however on a personal note it felt like i'd been run over by a bus on Monday and I was barely able to walk!!
LMBBS is a condition my daughter, Ellie, suffers from which unfortunatly over a period of time will mean that she will loose her sight. The Laurence-Moon-Bardet-Beidle Society is the only registered charity supporting people with Laurence-Moon-Bardet-Beidle Syndrome, their families and carers. It provides information for them and the medical and other professions. The Society produces newsletters, holds an annual family conference, and co-operates with research relevant to the Syndrome.
The aims of the Society are: to preserve and protect the health and promote the welfare of persons suffering from LMBBS, and to advance the education of the medical and educational professionals and the general public on the subject of LMBBS
The Society supported Professor Beales in setting up designated LMBBS Clinics which commenced in April 2010. The clinics have been designed to provide a “one stop” annual visit to ensure everyone with LMBBS in diagnosis or suspected of LMBBS receives expert attention and management
