Virgin London Marathon 2011 · 17 April 2011 ·

Our vision is to see life in all its fullness for Nepal's poor and disadvantaged people and communities. We do this by supporting local Nepali communities and healthcare services, to improve health, reduce poverty and promote social inclusion. Love, compassion, inclusion and dignity matter to us.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am running in this year's marathon in order to raise money for the work of Green Pastures Hospital in Nepal (see below). I worked in Nepal for INF for 6 years and have seen first hand the amazing work which goes on at GPH. Please sponsor me for a very worthwhile cause. Thank you very much.

The International Nepal Fellowship’s (INF) Green Pastures Hospital in Pokhara, Nepal was opened in 1957 as a leprosy hospital. It has now broadened its scope, helping people with all kinds of disability, and has been renamed the Green Pastures Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre. With 73 beds it now provides in- and out-patient leprosy services, reconstructive surgery, rehabilitation of patients suffering from spinal cord injuries, nursing care, laboratory services, counselling and health education, in- and out-patient rehabilitation including orthopaedic appliances, physiotherapy and occupational therapy. It provides beds for patients with leprosy and other disabilities, many of whom are too poor to afford treatment.

So please dig deep and donate now.
