We are cycling from Lands End to Exeter for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance to say thank you for helping save my son's life.  Four old school friends, covering 200 miles on Sustrans cycle tracks, raising money for this amazing charity.  Please give whatever you can to help us achieve our £1000 target.  

Early last August, Tom had a very serious accident in a remote location where he ended up trapped under a tractor for over an hour.  His mobile phone was broken in the accident, but eventually a couple walking their dog came across him and raised the alarm.  The Air Ambulance and Emergency Services were on the scene very quickly, and, along with Tom's own initial efforts, the Crew's input and treatment at the scene also very much helped save his life.  There is far more to Tom's heroics which will come out in due course.  Tom spent nearly a month in Southampton General Hospital with numerous operations to save his leg, skin grafts etc, and is still under the care of Wessex Rehabilitation.  He is now able to walk and is making progress. 

Without the Air Ambulance, the outcome could have been a parent's worst nightmare and he may not be with us today.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance brings an advanced critical care team to people in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight when they need it most. Highly skilled crews of Doctors, Paramedics and Pilots can be at the scene of an incident within minutes.  It currently costs in excess of £15,000 a day to maintain our life saving service, and it is only thanks to the generosity of the communities that we serve that we are able keep the Air Ambulance flying and saving lives.
