We reveal and rethink the ways in which we live so we might all live better together. In this time of social divide and inequality it is more important than ever that we highlight critical issues in today's society through our collections and programmes.

Story

To mark my retirement I have launched my Director’s Appeal to help raise funds for Unlocking the Geffrye. This £18m project will open access to the Geffrye’s buildings, gardens and collections so that many more people will be able to enjoy them. The project is the culmination of my 25 years as Director and I hope you will support me in raising £50k to help secure a bright future for this wonderful museum. Please donate and help me Unlock the Geffrye.

£25 – could pay for conservation of some of our collections for display in the new gallery.

£50 – could provide some of the shelving in the new Library, providing a proper home for the Geffrye’s extensive library and archive collections.

£100 – could help provide specialist cases to display treasures that are currently in storage – revealing their stories for the first time.

£500 – could provide furniture and equipment for the new Learning Pavilion.

Your gift will make a real difference. Please give generously.
