My darling wife, Nicola, died on the 8th of June, aged 66, in Dorothy House Hospice in Winsley, Somerset. She was diagnosed with stage four bowel cancer in September 2022 and despite chemotherapy treatment, the cancer spread. I  stopped working to support Nicky , Dorothy House provided outpatient care and with family help, Nicky was able to stay at home. Nicky received end of life care in Dorothy House Hospice for the last week of her life. I am deeply and profoundly grateful to the amazing staff and  for the wonderful care they gave to Nicky. As a gesture of my gratitude and in memory of Nicola, I am walking across northern England on the Ravenber Way and hope to raise money to support Dorothy House and the outstanding work they do in helping people, like Nicky, die in dignity and peace.
