Story
In June 2016 my younger sister Gill was Diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML) means you do not have the right balance of cells in your blood, and your bone marrow is producing immature cells known as blasts. Gill has received chemotherapy treatment, taken part in a new drug trial and recently received a stem cell transplant.
Gill has benefited from the brilliant research into Cancer by charities such as Bloodwise and I have taken on the challenge to complete the Prudential Ride London on Sunday 29th July 2018 to raise funds for Bloodwise.
I'm a 57 year old born again cyclist who needs to get into shape.
Prudential Ride London 2018 is a 100 mile cycle ride starting in Stratford, it follows the Olympic cycle race route out to Surrey including a climb up Box Hill, with the finish in the Mall.
My aim is to complete the Ride London in a respectable time (yet to be decided). I want to raise as much as I can for such a life giving charity and hugely appreciate any thing you can give.
Thank you and wish me luck!
