Ciderthon · 19 August 2023
Two brothers. 13.1 miles. Copious amounts of cider. One great cause.
On 19th August we’ll be donning our finest Walrus costumes and running a race with a difference - cider! The Ciderthon is a half marathon broken up with cider tasting, and the reward of a crisp pint at the finish line. It may be challenging, but by the end we won’t care, or possibly won’t remember.
The motivation behind this boozy challenge is to raise money for Poole Hospital Cancer Services - part of the Dorset NHS. We’ve got them to thank for Dave being here today. The Poole Colorectal Cancer nurses, the Daycare Chemotherapy unit, and Ward B2 worked so hard to get Dave through everything that the least we can do is raise a bit of cash by drinking and running.
Dave has been training hard as he’s worked his way back to health, and Jon signed up at the first mention of cider. Anything you can donate will help ensure that many more people survive cancer and live to run, drink and dress as Walruses.
