To
mark this day, Swansea University’s EPSRC Healthcare Impact Partnership for new Blood Clotting Diagnostics and Management – made up of professors, lecturers, postdoctoral researchers, students, industrial and overseas partners – will be holding an event at Swansea University’s Bay Campus, where they will be attempting to break a Guinness World Record for the “Most hits of a person with water
balloons in three minutes by a team”.
During the day, everyone is invited to throw red water balloons symbolising red blood cells, and each throw demonstrates how we can all help to bust dangerous clots!
During the world record attempt, a volunteer will stand at a distance of ten metres and our team will throw the red balloons at our human target! Each balloon that breaks represents this research team’s mission statement and that of WTD, to detect and destroy dangerous life-threatening blood clots. Come along and support the event by sponsoring the brave volunteer who will be the human target! If you are interested, please donate on the day in one of the many charity buckets or via our JustGiving page. All money collected
will be donated to "Thrombosis UK”.
