Story
Thanks for visiting my page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation's research and I'd be so grateful for your support. The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives.
Just over three years ago I went in to hospital for what should of been a routine operation to have stents fitted into my heart.
However, when my cardiac consultant looked at my heart and I was advised that I was not going home that day but was going to get blue lighted to New Cross hospital to under go heart surgery because I urgently required a quadruple heart bypass.
I remember looking at the clock it was 215pm I said goodbye to my loved ones and as I was taken to surgery I was frightened of never seeing their faces again and at 47 years old I still had plenty of plans for my future.
I was in theatre for 9 hours and my unique support nurse woke me up at 1145 pm to give me tea and biscuits.
I was back but I had a long road to recovery and this was aided through the dedicated medical team and love and support from my friends and family.
Myself & Rachel will be running 5 miles on the 11/12/2016 which will be a personal challenge at every level for both of us and we want to raise as much money as possible for the British Heart Foundation to help them save another life like they saved mine.
Every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thanks!
