I have decided to run the half marathon in Brighton. This is for two reasons, number one to get fit, and number two to raise money for a great charity. Rise is an important charity in tackling the issue of domestic abuse in homes. This is an issue which affects 1 in 4 woman, many of which will have children which are affected by the abuse. Many woman are repeatedly attacked as they don't report the offences. Men are also affected by domestic abuse and so it is an issue which needs to be addressed. Rise is addressing the issue, it offers crises appointments, helplines, counsilling, housing, legal and financial advice, solicitor appointments, support groups, play therapy and 1 to 1 support. All these services cost money and more always need to be provided to provide so any money you can spare will be greatly appreciated by me and by rise.
