In memory of Clive (Jim) O'Leary
We stand for everyone affected by dementia to find a cure

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm attempting 4 Seriously hard challenges in 7 months to raise money in memory of Clive (Jim) O'Leary who passed away from Alzheimers in 2006.

Over 820,000 people in the UK suffer from Alzheimers - with over 163,000 new cases of dementia diagnosed every year. Whilst it is known as an illness affecting the elderly, a growing number are diagnosed at a younger age - as with my father, who was diagnosed at just 53.

The good news - it can be defeated, but every penny counts to allow organisations such as Alzheimers Research to find the cause and a cure.

I am joined by 2 of my best friends who have had to deal with a major loss themselves and are raising money for 2 further charities (see our Team Page)

This will not be easy and the Events are as follows:

Grim "Beast in the East" Challenge (May) - a timed 10k all terrain cross country circuit

Tough Mudder (June) -  known as the worlds course - a hardcore 12 mile-long obstacle courses designed by the Special Forces

Spartan Sprint (Aug) - an equally hard 10k all terrain course

Men's Health Survival of the Fittest (November) - an urban challenge - 10k assault course

Please give anything you can to help me in this Challenge!
