I'm riding in the London Ride 100Miles event in August this year. It's the first event of its kind and the organisers hope it will become as famous as the London Marathon. I decided to try and support the CF Trust who help people with Cystic Fibrosis. I used to teach a wonderful youngster many years ago who suffered with CF and have friends in the UK, Singapore and The Netherlands who all have children who are sufferers.

I guess the suffering on a bike - riding 100 miles - is nothing compared to having such a debilitating condition.

 

I'm going to match the amount raised for the CF Trust and make a donation to support the education of my 19 year old nephew who has Downes Syndrome and is a fine young man with lots of potential. He's jsut gained a place in higher education for students with special needs and so it will be good to support him with the things he needs to learn and develop and be the best he can be.
