Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In respect to those who may not already know, I survived a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) in France during January 2014. The incident that occurred (I wasn't skiing), resulted in a quick decision to operate on my skull, after which the superb Doctors decided to put me into a coma for a couple of weeks. Can't suggest sleeping was traumatic for me personally, but it was a huge mental and emotional challenge for my wife and two daughters. I did get flown out of France after a month at which point I was immediately taken to Salford Royal Hospital for a further month. Without boring you with any specific details, those of you that know me won't be surprised to hear that I was 'back to normal' after six months. I am pleased to state that, with valuable support and my insane commitment,  I have recovered extremely well over the last couple of years.

Having given some consideration as to how I may support Headway, I have decided to walk the 268 mile Pennine Way. Decided to do it with a large rucksack on my back over just 14 days. As no one I know is as daft as me, I shall be doing this stroll on my own. Luckily I don't mind camping and I trust that the weather will treat me well.

I genuinely believe that this effort will assist people who have survived a TBI, brain tumour, Stroke or ultimately any type of brain injury. There are hundreds of thousands a year in the UK. Any genuine, fully appreciated donation, will of course, be secure and JustGiving will send your money directly to Headway. As such it is the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for this charity.
