Fundraising for The Colonel's Fund Grenadier Guards
In memory of Darren Chant

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On November 3rd 2009 five members of HM Forces were murdered by a rogue Afghan Policeman. Amongst the 5 were 3 Grenadier Guards including my friend RSM Darren Chant.

From the 1st November to the 3rd November 2019  Myself, Neil Trebble, Peter Sergeant and Rob Cunliffe will cycle from Grimsby the home of Sgt Matt Telford (Killed in Action) and GDSM James Major (KIA) to the resting place of RSM DARREN CHANT at Brookwood cemetery in Guildford. The ride of approx 223 miles will take place over 3 days to allow other Grenadier, family and Friends to join us whether it be for 5 miles or 50 miles.

In conflicts since 1970 including Northern Ireland, Iraq, Bosnia, Afghanistan the Grenadier Guards have lost 20 men killed in action with hundreds more injured. The physical and mental scars of war never leave us. The Colone,s fund is the charity of the Grenadier Guards and raises money to support not only the families of those killed but those many men traumatised by war both physically and emotionally. For those that are living the fight goes on and on way beyond the final bullet fired.

Whilst this is not the toughest challenge ever undertaken with it being the 10th anniversary of that terrible slaughter it will be the most poignant and sombre as we remember all Grenadiers Killled in action since WW2 and continue to support our brothers who are struggling today, I hope you can support us with a small donation.
