My mother was diagnosed with vascular dementia more than 10 years ago. While still alive she is just a shell of her former self. She has been confined to bed for 3 years, unable to speak or feed herself for 6 years. This is no life for anyone. Research is needed for better treatments.

For these reasons I want to raise some money for the Alzheimer's society who put money into all kinds of dementia research (not just Alzheimer's).

I intend to do around 5 Tough Mudders this year, which will get me to 10 in total, and hopefully along the way raise a bit of money and have some fun with good friends. For those who don't know Tough Mudders are an extreme endurance event series in which participants attempt 10–12 mile-long military-style obstacle courses.
