Parkinsons Disease stinks!
The majority of people think it's an older person disease and the symptoms are shaking and stiffness.
There is so much more than this. Firstly, every 1 in 5 people diagnosed is under 40 years- surprised? Yes, thought so.
Parkinson's does cause muscle stiffness & tremors but there are lots of other life changing symptoms too; depression, loss of smell, loss of facial expressions (so others don't know if you're happy or sad) Smelling disturbances , disturbance of sleep patterns, mood swings, loss of sexual function, loss of control of your bladder and problems with swallowing to name only a few.
There has been some really promising research lately and much of this is funded by Charities such as this one.
The Cure Parkinsons Trust focused ALL of its effort on finding a way to slow down the progression of the disease and ultimately finding a cure for this nasty disease.
