Story
Diabetes might be something you think about when you see it on the news, when your friend/relative does a blood test or when someone like me talks about it and asks you for money 😊.
It’s something I personally think about every day. Each time I eat, walk to the shops, jump on my spin bike or feel emotion. Everything a diabetic does affects their blood sugars and control.
Diabetes Research & Wellness Foundation is a charity that helps fund diabetes research in the UK and around the world, to help understand the causes, prevention, treatment and management for people like me.
COVID-19 has made it harder for people living with conditions as well as for charities trying to raise money.
So, along with my colleagues at BD, we will be trying to climb higher than Mount Everest by stepping 1000ft per day. All to add up to 30,000ft, which will be slightly higher than the official height of Mount
Everest (29,000ft).
November is Diabetes awareness month and World Diabetes day is the 14th of November, so I am asking you to keep me motivated to keep climbing and watch my blood sugar while doing so.
No amount is too small!
