London Paris Ride 2017 · 25 May 2017 to 29 May 2017 ·

Myeloma UK supporters cycling 500km from London to Paris in four days to raise funds for crucial myeloma research.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We did it! It was totally amazing.  Those hills were challenging. The heat was challenging! We had amazing support from the crew keeping us safe and together. Loved it! Can we go round again?

So a little bit about why I'm doing this ride... It's because my brother Glyn has Myeloma and is living with this presently incurable form of cancer, it's true to say that he has received a great deal of very good treatment and support from the NHS. In addition to this front line care however, he is also very grateful that Myeloma UK has also proven to be a invaluable resource for accessible knowledge and support while also pushing the research agenda for this rarer disease.

Glyn is currently stable but last year he suffered a partial relapse from his remission and unfortunately he had to pull out of the 2016 ride but has made the decision to try again in 2017.  To show support for him and the Myeloma UK charity I will be joining him and his wife Lynne on this challenge.

The challenge will see us cycling for 4 days doing on average 80 miles a day from Greenwich to Paris.  It will be an honour to ride with fellow supporters but most of all the patients that participate too.

It doesn't matter if it's only a small amount it will make a difference to me and more importantly all the patients who benefit from the donations.  Remember this form of cancer has no cure presently and is affecting many lives and the lives of the patients families.
