Debbie & Paul's 40 km Trek
on 7 April 2010

Well, our 100km walk last year hasn't entirely put us off walking, so we decided to undertake a slightly shorter, but no less challenging charity walk again this year.
On 15th May 2010 we will be taking part in a 40 km (24 mile) trek across the South Downs, starting at Goodwood Racecourse at 8 a.m. wandering around on the South Downs, before returning to Goodwood somewhat weary and foot sore at some time later that day (or maybe evening ......).
This year, our chosen charity is Julia's House, which is a hospice for children who have life-limiting conditions, many of which are unlikely to live beyond the age of 18. Julia's House Pyjama Appeal is aiming to raise £400,000 to open Julia’s House for night-time care. Currently Julia’s House offers day care at the hospice and home care for nearly 100 children. the aim is to open the doors of Julia’s House to these special children at night as well as in the day. This will mean that they can offer full weekends of care, giving parents valuable time off, and end-of-life nursing care around the clock.
Please sponsor myself and Paul on our charity walk, for however much you can spare, so that together we can raise something towards this fund....... AND IF I REACH MY SPONSORSHIP TARGET OF £500 I PROMISE THAT I WILL WALK THE WHOLE 40KM IN MY BLUE AND WHITE SPOTTY PYJAMAS!
I had the priviledge of visiting Julia's House a few years ago, and the beauty and serentiy of the hospice, together with the dedication of the staff and the care given to the children and their families has stayed with me since that visit.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thank you for your support, whent the going gets tough during our walk, the thought of the good that we are doing to help those less fortunate will spur us on ......
