Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am going to climb Ben Nevis as a huge personal challenge and use the effort to raise some much needed funds for a specific cause for Love Russia.

A number of years ago I broke my knee and tore all the ligaments, then I had a big DVT when repairing my knee and learning to walk again.  That summer I suffered a fall that resulted in a bruise on my right hip that never went away. All this resulted in me walking crookedly and with pain in my knee.  Recently I have been working with a personal coach (www. petergilbertcoaching.com) who has helped me become stronger and more able to achieve levels of fitness I thought were out of reach. He has challenged me to climb the highest mountain in the UK!

I work for Love Russia and recently heard of a project in Russia of a flat where disabled young people can stay for a month and learn to shop, cook, clean, and learn together. This is a fantastic opportunity for them but it is costly.  A months stay has to be paid up front and although it’s not much it is too much for those with very little.  I would like to raise funds to be able to send four of our special friends to this flat. Whatever I can raise will make a difference and I believe in the value of this experience for them.

Please help.
