Story
Over the years I have lost many family members and friends to cancer or cancer related illnesses so I thought I’d do something to raise money for our local hospice. This terrible illness can affect any of us at any time and it’s places like Earl Mountbatten Hospice need all the support we can give them. As you all know I shy away from any form of exercise so this will be a challenge for me but I’ll try my best to finish the course!
Given the current situation with Coronavirus and not going out I’ll be doing my walking in the house and using a treadmill and will put up regularly updates to let you know my progress. I haven’t set a big target as I know that at the moment a lot of people are worried about money, or lack of, but even a 50p donation would be very welcome.
I’m completing 'Walk the Wight My Way' to help make sure that, even during this challenging time, the most vulnerable in our community are cared for when they need it the most. Its only with our help that Mountbatten can continue to be there for Island people in the last years of life, when the time comes to die and to help those left behind come to terms with their loss. Without our support, Mountbatten cannot afford to deliver the services they do, as well as meet the needs of the increasing number of people who need care and support. Please help me by making a donation of whatever you can afford. Every penny will make a difference. Mountbatten, and Island people facing death, dying and bereavement, are counting on us!
