Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My wife and love of my life, Jacqui, died from ovarian cancer on 18 January 2015, just 5 days after her 54th birthday. Although Jacqui only spent three days in the NI Hospice, I will remember the care and compassion shown to us for the rest of my life. The staff at the Hospice - the doctors, the nurses, the admin staff, the volunteers, etc. - were nothing short of wonderful. I am therefore very happy to have this opportunity to undertake the Great Wall of China trekking challenge to give something back to the NI Hospice in return for the kindness shown and support given to Jacqui and her family.
Each year, the NI Hospice cares for over 3,000 patients with terminal illnesses and provide support for their families. This care is provided through their newly opened Hospice at Somerton House in Belfast and in the local communities across Northern Ireland. They provide care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 52 weeks a year and aim to provide individualised care, focusing not only on the need for physical care and management of pain and other symptoms, but also emotional and spiritual support.
Please help me support the essential work of the NI Hospice by making a donation through this page.
