On 8th October I'm going to have a bash at cycling from John O'Groats (top right of Scotland) to Land's End (bottom left of England) with a few well chosen mates.

Before getting lost it promises to be a 950 mile 9 day ride for The Christie Charity, Manchester, one of Europe's leading cancer centres and an international leader in research. It is a place very close to my family's heart.

- 950 miles, that's over 100 miles a day, if we manage to take the right roads...

- Probably 10 hours of saddle time every day. Ouch!

- A lot of deep fried Mars bars (national dish of Scotland despite what they say)

- A week's annual leave 

- A total climb of 16,000m over the route. Seems daft I agree... 

I could have written it's going to involve a lot of suffering and all that stuff but frankly I can't wait to begin!
