In September 2013 my son was diagnosed with Diabetes Type one, 

After the initial shock, we ( mostly he) learned to live ( very well ) with it.

Despite the 4/5  tests and  insulin injections  he has every day, he plays Tennis, Rugby, Football and he will very soon beat his daddy to all of these sports.

But I made him a promise that before he reaches 20, science will, if not cure, make Diabetes as easy to live with, as having lenses. 

This is my first charity event/ race,  

I am sailing because I love it,  but I want to be perfectly clear, no money will finance me having fun on my Ship,  the money will only go to the charity.

My ship is a mini class 6.50 called Super Bolide, 

Its small fast, built to cross the Atlantic with one lunatic skipper on it ( my ship did it 3 times already but without me!!) and easy enough for a ex midship and a doctor not to crash and sink (hopefully). 

Super Bolide is now registered for the race, but still need to be fully prepared in le Havre, to get across the channel in June in time for the Race which will take place on the 27th of June

As an incentive the 2 highest contributors and 2 others randomly selected   will be offered one day on board ( one slot in Le Havre France  one in Portsmouth UK)  , fully catered !! ( with Jetboiled lunch)!
