Story
I have been inspired to continue running through my work with Action Mental Health. During any competitive run I have taken part in, I will always wear my AMH vest as a representation of the strength to drive me towards the end. Working for AMH has allowed me to develop a positive mental attitude towards getting myself fitter and I foster the work I do every day into helping to develop myself as a person. When I was struggling to find permanent work, an opportunity with AMH came along and it was the best thing that happened to me professionally. I love the work I do with the organisation, making a positive difference to people’s mental health on a daily basis has given me a passion I never had before in a job. I want to represent this organisation, their values and their vision, because it is interwoven with my own personal ethics. I want to cross the finish line of a marathon representing that anything is possible with a strong mental attitude.
As part of the process, I'll be posting a monthly blog that can be viewed on the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon website. hee's Jan 19 - https://www.belfastcitymarathon.com/training-blogs/2019-Experiment-26.2-Blogs-~-January-2019/Diarmuid-McLaughlin-January-2019-Blog
Any donations you make will be gratefully received and will make a massive difference to the work of Action Mental Health.
For example, by donating £30 you could pay for learning materials for a local primary school class completing a specialist mental health awareness session or by donating £50 you could help to pay for personal development sessions for adults recovering from mental ill health. Whatever you can donate, it will make a big difference. Thank you.
