In the early summer of 2021, I was invited to join a search and Rescue team called NORSLAR who are a highly trained, dedicated and motivated volunteer lowland search and rescue team.

They provide the emergency services and the community of Norfolk with specialist expertise to search for vulnerable missing people 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year.

Norfolk Search and Rescue is a Lowland Rescue team, that fills the gap between Mountain Rescue Teams and HM Coast Guard.

Since joining the team as a search technician for the foot team and the water team I have been aware of how much my training and equipment has and will be costing me in the future. 

To give you an idea of what things can cost. 

• £400 for the average callout cost. 
• £95 cost per water team protective helmet.
• £10 medical equipment for treating a missing person.
• £30 for a harness for a search. 
• £60 for a tank of fuel for 1 of our support vehicles.
• £450 for the basic kit for each search technician.
• £1500 Annual MOT and servicing costs.

As I am aware that a lot of the equipment that is used costs a lot of money, and due to Covid a lot of avenues for funding have just been closed off, I decided I would do something to help raise needed funds.

So this is my way of doing my bit. If you would like to help me help other people, please please please donate whatever you can to watch me, the 3 kebabs a week and lover of god knows how much other junk food run my 1st ever half marathon at Sandringham in June 2022. 

I have never been able to run 13.1miles in my life, so it is going to be tough. But I hope that with your generosity you will be able to make me do it with a smile on my face as I will know that my sore legs will be helping out somebody else.
