Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit one of the two JustGiving pages which we have set up in memory of Richard (Dick Hails).

Sadly, following a routine blood test, in January 2019, our dear dad, grandad, husband was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. He fought so very hard, but it was a very tough battle, and just 6 short months after diagnosis he passed away. Unfortunately 10 weeks of this period he spent in hospital, which meant he wasn’t able to spend much of his last few months with his family and friends.

Dad was a HGV mechanic by trade, and he set up his own successful business. He loved his work, clay pigeon shooting, motorbikes, gardening, but most of all he loved his family. He was a great man, he was always willing to give advice, he loved to talk, and he loved to laugh and have a joke.

Dad will be dearly missed, he was loved and respected by so many people. We hope that he will live on through his family, and that people will remember him fondly.

This disease is so aggressive and so cruel. We hope that by fund raising in dad’s memory, we can contribute towards funding for vital research to help other sufferers in the future.

Thanks you for all your love and support, love from

The Hails Family x
