March to Remember 2015 · 23 July 2015

Scotty’s Little Soldiers is a charity dedicated to supporting children & young people who have experienced the death of a parent who served in the British Armed Forces. A range of programmes are provided to support their bereavement needs, well-being, education and development.

Story

This year has been a tough one, after picking up a knee cartilage tear in November and having surgery in mid April, I have pushed myself to train through so I can do my best as part of a team of  people who aim to raise money for Scottys Little Soldiers.

This weekend is completed the 1st challenge of many,  the Cotswold 70.3 IRONMAN Triathlon,  1.9km swim 88km bike 21km run. I was aiming for under 6hrs 30 mins,  which after my knee problem will be a massive achievement., but I actually did 5hrs 49min!

Challenge calendar has been revised as a result

June - Cotswold Half Iron Man (1.9km Swim/55 mile Bike/Half Marathon)

July  the Amphibian 5km open water swim as 10x 500m swim lap with 100m run between laps

July - March to Remember Cardiff to Portsmouth

October - Cardiff Half Marathon carrying a 35lb Pack in boots

And looking at other events to add before the year is up.
