Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I've decided to set myself a challenge to raise £5,000 for our local MIND organization. Many people I know and love face challenges with mental health every day. Some for short periods, others over the long term. Some directly, and some indirectly, as they support family and friends. In short, I want to help more than I do.
I've been so impressed how visionaries, like our friend Sue Baker OBE, have raised awareness of mental health through her work with MIND. Despite this, the services are scarce and the stigma often remains. People suffer in silence and, in the most tragic cases, find they can't go on any longer.
I chose to give up alcohol because I figured it would be a significant enough challenge to encourage people to sponsor me. It's also going to be a healthy challenge, which seems fitting.
Your donations will be my motivation when I'm tested. At summer barbecues, out for dinner, celebrating Christmas, going on holiday etc. Knowing people have committed money will mean my resolve will not waver.
