Story
On May 24th, I’ll be taking on the Edinburgh Marathon to raise funds for Leuchie House in East Lothian.
After completing the London Marathon in 2024 and Manchester in 2025, I vowed never to run another marathon again. I was ready to hang up my long-distance shoes and just run for fun—simply to enjoy it again. But as many runners know, the bug has a funny way of pulling you back in.
When I heard about Leuchie House and the tremendous work they do for individuals and families living with neurological conditions, the decision became effortless. Their impact is undeniable, and running for them wasn’t a question—it felt like the right thing to do.
Leuchie House provides vital respite breaks for people affected by conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Motor Neurone Disease (MND), Parkinson’s, stroke, and other life-changing neurological challenges. But more than that, they offer a lifeline.
They help people to improve their health and wellbeing, rebuild confidence and regain independence.
Relieve pressure on families and loved ones who care for them daily
Their work transforms lives—but they rely heavily on fundraising to continue delivering this essential support.
Taking on another marathon will be a huge challenge for me, but it’s nothing compared to the daily resilience and strength shown by those who benefit from Leuchie House. So this year, my goal is simple: raise as much money as possible so more people and families can access the respite, care, and dignity they deserve.
If you’re able to donate—no matter how big or small—it will genuinely make a difference.
Thank you so much for your support. It means the world to me, and to everyone who relies on Leuchie House. 💛
