Story
Doreen was a lovely loving nan, mum, wife and friend to so many and she touched the lives of everyone she knew. She was such an active independent lady who was always doing something, not only for herself but for other people. Unfortunately everything got cruelly taken away from her when Dementia set in as she wasn't able to do much for herself anymore and became a shell of the person she used to be. Dementia is a terrible disease that not only affects the person suffering with it but also affects the person's family and everyone who knows them as they can only watch it take the life of the person and can't do anything about it.
Unfortunately dementia is widely misunderstood and many people don't know enough about this cruel disease, which is also under funded and not enough is put into trying to combat this terrible disease for research and helping the people that are still suffering with it.
Doreen's page has been set up in memory of her so that we can try to give something back for her and people can pay their respects and tribute to her as well as fight this terrible illness. If you would like to pay your respects by giving a small donation to this worthy cause in her memory rather than buying her flowers please do so as this would help her give something back for all of the wonderful care she was given when she was suffering and help try to combat it.
You can also donate by text message straight to the fundraising page by texting DORN52 and an amount of £1, £2, £3, £4, £5 or £10 to 70070
