Story

On the 19th November six brave adventurers will be begin a quest to roleplay for 24 hours for the noble cause of raising money for cancer research. In summer 2016 our dungeon master ‘Gaz’ unfortunately lost his mother to cancer and as a way of helping him with his bereavement and supporting a great cause we will be donating money for every hour that we play, real money that is not electrum pieces or gems of the Dwarven Lords. So if you could spare a few pounds for an amazing cause we would really appreciate your goodwill and may all your roll’s be crits!

We will be playing Tomb of Horrors 1st edition, a mashup of Cthulhu & Warhammer 40K, and maybe some of our long running 4th edition Dark Sun campaign, if the lich Acererak and Yog Sothoth slay us like a bunch of hobbit noobs.

About Gaz’s Mum (written by Gaz)
Judith Mary Moore was an amazing mother to myself and my two brothers, a loving wife to my Dad, devoted Grandmother to my 3 nieces and 1 nephew and beloved to her Sister. She was taken from us just two weeks after her 64th birthday, after fighting cancer for 3 years. As with many stories told by those left behind, she was too young, and had so much left to give after giving so much over the years. She was such a positive and caring person, completely selfless, always giving without ever expecting anything in return. When the group suggested we do a charity day as a homage to her, I felt genuinely touched, and in too many respects to mention in a short text it is a wonderful tribute. My Mum was never that much into RPGs or gaming for much of our childhood until ironically we’d all left home, but unlike some parents who may have been disengaged and unsupportive, she took an interest to try and understand why we liked these strange miniatures and D&D (she used to call every game D&D) and encouraged myself and my brothers to follow our hobbies wherever they took us. I have so much to be thankful for, but this feels like one of the core things that has enabled me to be the person I am today, and is continuing to help me in far more ways than I could have ever imagined. Mum, this is for you x
