We have decided to set up a JustGiving page to raise money and awareness for Sepsis Trust UK in memory of Dr Shiv Sekaran.
Our wonderful Shiv sadly passed away, after the very rapid onset of sepsis, on Saturday 11th March 2017.
The signs of sepsis are very often mistaken for something else, even Shiv being a GP either misread them or was too poorly to recognise them. Never being one to leave his GP hat at work we are sure Shiv would take this opportunity to raise awareness of Sepsis and the dangers it poses. For that reason we ask that once you have donated you visit the www.sepsistrust.org for more information, or have a look at the symptom cards we have added to our pictures.
We know that Shiv was loved by so many and have already been asked how he will be remembered. We hope this page will be a place of remembrance, as well as somewhere to highlight the importance of recognising and treating Sepsis as soon as possible - particularly within the 'Golden Hour'. We are so grateful for all of the kind wishes and memories of Shiv we have already received. Please know we have read every single message and they have given us great comfort.
Funeral arrangements are yet to be made. However, it has been decided that there will be family flowers only, for this reason we will be asking for donations to Sepsis Trust UK. A book of condolence will also be at Shefford Health Centre from late afternoon on Monday 13th March.
