On the 10th January 2017 we will be flying to Jaipur, India to enter the Dumball Rally. The Dumball Rally is an extreme driving challenge across 2,500 miles of some of the toughest roads in the world. Starting in the desert of Rajasthan we will travel though northan India to Goa in old school Mahindra jeeps.
The Dumball Rally is the world famous fancy dress festival on wheels; we have decided to take as our theme Lara Croft and Indiana Jone. Creating the Croft and Jones adventures.
We are enduring this challenge to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust as I feel I owe that much to them.
In 2013 I was diagnosed with sarcoma; sarcoma is a rare type of cancer that affects soft tissue, muscles and nerves. There are over 50 types of sarcoma and its more common in children and young adults however affects adults also.
When I was diagnosed I was 23 and classed as a young adult - I was treated on an adult ward. Everyone was so much older than me and I felt alone. The units TCT provide with the money raised make such a difference as those diagnosed are treated with others that are a similar age - lifelong friendships can be created which can make it that little bit less scary
I know I have asked for sponsors many times since my diagnosis but please sponsor me again - even if it is £1 as it all adds up and the work TCT do for those who need it at such a dark point in their life can make such a difference!
