Our Team (Alistair, Richard, Robert, Cataline and myself) iare raising money for Maggie's, a charity which is close to the heart of myself and my family.  The Maggie's Centres provide a sanctuary to people and their families who have been diagnosed with and are fighting cancer in all its forms.  A place to talk to someone who can cut through the jargon, for a cup of tea and a biscuit or somewhere you can feel not so alone. 

We are taking part in the Maggies Monster Bike and Hike Challenge.  Its a 24 hour endurance challenge, starting out from Fort William we first bike for 30 miles followed by a 20 mile hike across the Scottish Highlands. 

We are all first time endurance challengers and some of us have only just bought our first bike since childhood!  However we are all massively committed to both the challenge and the cause so I am confident we will not let the mountains beat us (or the midgies, the cold, the rain, the mist, the mud, the blisters....)!!

I'm doing this for mum, to make her proud, to honour her memory and to give something back to the people who helped her, as I know she would want to do.
