Story

Running the Edinburgh Marathon for Kidney Kids Scotland ❤️

This year I’m taking on the Edinburgh Marathon to raise money for Kidney Kids Scotland, a local charity based in Stenhousemuir that does incredible work supporting children with kidney conditions and their families.

This one is very personal to me. My son, Archie, was born with a kidney defect and has already been through more in his short life than any child should have to face. He’s had a kidney operation to have a stent fitted and is back and forward to hospital regularly for scans and check-ups. Like many families in similar situations, we’ve seen first-hand how tough this journey can be — not just for the kids, but for parents too.

Kidney Kids Scotland provides vital support to families and does fantastic work for the children’s ward at the Royal Hospital for Sick Kids in Glasgow. From emotional support to practical help, they make a real difference at a time when it’s needed most.

Running 26.2 miles will be a huge challenge for me, but it’s nothing compared to what these kids face every day. If you can spare anything at all, I’d be incredibly grateful — every donation helps support children like Archie and families just like ours.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for any support you can give. ❤️
