Story

I’m really excited (and a little daunted!) to be taking part in the Grand Depart Classic, riding the whole of the first road stage of the 2017 Tour de France, the week before the pros. This takes us 202 km from Düsseldorf in Germany to Liege in Belgium on 24 June. I’ve signed up to this as part of 🚴Team Gairloch 🚴with my brother Rod and cousin Craig in memory of my dad and uncle who both died from prostate cancer. My brother in law was fortunate enough to be diagnosed early and have successful surgery, so it is something that has impacted our family quite significantly. I will train and push my limits, in order to save men’s lives, but I need your help. Donations before the end of March are specially important.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. Every hour one man dies from prostate cancer – that's more than 10,800 men every year. 1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer in their lifetime. Ignoring prostate cancer won't beat it. Prostate Cancer UK has a simple ambition – to stop men dying from prostate cancer. Through shifting the science over the next 10 years to focus on radical improvements in diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and support, we will stop prostate cancer being a killer.

Your donation will make an impact, so please see this as your chance to do something amazing. It could be the best thing you do today.

Your support and encouragement is greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much.

Duncan
